My new classroom

Today was the first day I got to see where I will be spending the next 10 months.... teaching!: )
I originally thought that I was going to be sharing my classroom with another bilingual teacher but as it turns out the room is all mine : - ).
So here it is.  This is a picture of what my room looked like when I walked in. I know ...... chaos!

Who knew classrooms still had black boards, just kidding : - D. Even though I hate writing with chalk I'll have to deal with it.  On the bright side, I get to have an ELMO : ) !

After 6 hours of moving and rearranging furniture I got this much accomplished.

School starts Moday and I still have a ton of work to do!  Wish me luck :/

Crate Seats

Hi everyone,

I have been getting very anxious lately since school is about to start in just 2 weeks, YIKES!
This week I am trying to organize all of my school things.  I did not get a chance to see my new teaching space, and since I am switching jobs I have everything piled up everywhere : / However, I still found some time to create these beautiful crate seats to go with my classroom color scheme.

No Sew Pillows

Today, I have also finished my no sew pillow shams.   I was thinking of purchasing some pillows for my classroom library area but I did not want to spend a fortune.  After looking for different ideas I finally found this great tutorial on pintrest  http://www.livelovediy.com/2013/04/how-to-make-pillow-with-glue.html

I went to Hobby Lobby and bought chevron colors to match my classroom theme.

After some time cutting and gluing my pillow shams turned out great!

I have 12 pillows shams from 6 yards of material.

I saved some $$, by making my own and they match my theme! What more can I want : )

I will post another picture of what they look like after I purchase the inner cushions.  Found some at IKEA for only 2.99.

No Homework Log Binder

I am proud to say that I have been very productive on this very rainy day!  I just finished creating a No Homework Log binder.  Got this GREAT idea from http://secondgradeparadise.blogspot.com/.
This log will make the kiddos responsible to explain why their homework was not done.  It will be great to show parents at conference time.

This is the cover page of my binder, I love the picture of the dog!

I have numbered tabs in the binder, each student will have their own number and a missing homework log.  When their homework is not turned it, they will be responsible to fill in the log with the date, assignment, and reason why it is not complete.

Today I finished laminating and cutting my word wall letters.  I added ribbon to the title to make it look more fancy.  How did it turn out?
And here are the letters : )
You can find this at my TPT Store!

Since Polish materials are extremely difficult to find anywhere (except Poland), I decided to create some of my own! I just finished doing Colors-Kolory and Months of the Year-MiesiÄ…ce Roku.  Look how it turned out : )

So excited to use these in my classroom! :D

I am so excited about the Word Wall Letters I just created! Here is a sneak peak! Yellow and gray chevron background with turquoise letters! What a great combo. You can find them at my TPT store.  Enjoy : )

I also purchased "Guess Who?" for my classroom today.  I don't really have any games for my kiddos and I think this will be a great one, getting my ELL/Bilingual students talking more.  After all, I remember playing this game as a bilingual student myself! Absolutely loved it!
